The 12th winter BIM-marathon in Zelenograd took place

12th Zelenograd winter marathon which was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Soviet army counteroffensive near Moscow took place. It was organized by Zelenograd prefecture, Matushkino administrative board, Matushkino municipality and Beg I My (BIM, Running and We) magazine. This marathon is traditionally in the top ten of the most popular ones among more than 70 yearly Russian marathons.
217 runners from 32 constituent entities of the Russian Federation as well as Ukraine, Estonia, Bulgaria, USA and France took part in it. Among the oldest participants were N. Nechaev from Rostov region (year of birth – 1934) and R. Nikitina from Protvino, who celebrated her 85th birthday on the 6th of December. The youngest one was A. Shevchenko, a student of a Zelenograd college.
Women’s winner was Michelle Mitchell (Chicago, USA), the silver medal had E. Simukina (Bryansk), and the bronze went to I. Koval (Kashira). Men’s triumphator was V. Loginov (Ivanovo), the second to finish was I. Zernov (Tver region), and the third one was V. Nasrenov (Bryansk).
