The senior biathlon coach of Russian men's national team Alexander Kasperovich told about formation of structure on the forthcoming World Cup stages. The sixth stage will pass in Antholz (on January 22-25), the seventh — in Nova Place (on February 6-8).
— There eight people will go to the stage in Antholz. We plan that Slepov and Yeliseyev who are brightly proving on the Cup of IBU will declare themselves at the World Cup stage in Nova Place.
The final of the XIII tournament of the Grand Prix of the All-Russian competitions in parachuting took place in Park Pobedy. It was devoted to memory of the Hero of Russia Dmitry Razumovsky. 15 best athletes of Russia took part in action. For the first time parachute jumps were carried out over a city pond with a landing on a raft of 10х10 meters in size.
The 14th winter marathon called as "BIM" passed in our district. It was devoted to the 72nd anniversary of the beginning of counterattack of the Red Army near Moscow. 209 stayers became participants of running. They're both fans of run, and highly professional athletes from the Russian Federation, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Estonia.

In 2013 Zelenograd celebrates its jubilee – 55 years, and Zelenograd rugby is 45 years old. Besides, the 35th traditional international rugby tournament “Zolotoy Oval” (Golden Oval) took place in Zelenograd this year. 42 teams from different parts of Russia, as well as from France and Ukraine participated in the competition.
Zelenograd resident Raisa Chebanika has become London Paralympic W6 table tennis champion. She beat Ukranian Antonina Hodzinskaya with 3:0 score.
Table tennis paralympics qualification is as follows. Classes 1-5 are for the sportspeople who are unable to walk; they play in wheelchairs. Classes 6-10 are for those disabled who can play standing on their legs.
Raisa Chebanika, a Zelenograd resident, will represent Russia in table tennis at Paralympic Games in London.
She has been disabled since childhood however since then she has been practicing table tennis. Born in Moldova, she moved to Russia in 1998 and in 1999 she was invited to Russia national team and became RF Merited Master of Sports in table tennis, won three European Championships and got three World Championships silver medals.
The 16th traditional half-marathon took place on July 22, 2012 in Zelenograd.
7 km distance runners as well as Ekiden race participants (teams of three members each of whom ran 7 km and then gave way to the partner) started together with the main distance (21 km 097.5 m) runners, according to the regulations.
12th Zelenograd winter marathon which was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Soviet army counteroffensive near Moscow took place. 217 runners from 32 constituent entities of the Russian Federation as well as Ukraine, Estonia, Bulgaria, USA and France took part in it. Women’s winner was Michelle Mitchell (Chicago, USA), the silver medal had E. Simukina (Bryansk), and the bronze went to I. Koval (Kashira). Men’s triumphator was V. Loginov (Ivanovo), the second to finish was I. Zernov (Tver region), and the third one was V. Nasrenov (Bryansk).
Zelenograd is rightly seen as the most advanced Moscow territory in every sport. This year is the third one for Zelenograd to take part in All-Russia Martial Arts Games and the most successful one for our sportsmen. As deputy prefect A.Nemeryuk reported, the members of Zelenograd karate team won two golden, one silver and three bronze awards.
National volleyball competition among veterans teams of all age categories was held from September, 20th till September, 25th in Lazarevskoe. Zelenograd women’s team became the champion of Russia in ‘45+’ age categories, with sweeping in all the competitions including ones with the most strong ones of Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Zelenograd team acknowledged its title of Russia Cup winner which was won this February.
The 6th Paraspartakiada Open Games for disabled people took place in Zelenograd on the 10th of September. The competition was organized in every age category, from children to veterans. It included 12 sports, with about 300 participants from every Moscow territory, as well as Krasnogorsk, Serpukhov, Podolsk and Podolsk district (all – Moscow region), Vladimir and Volgograd.
Childrenґs international car run through European countries was held from the 9th till the 22nd of July. It was devoted to the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory in the II World War. The car run was organized by Traffic Safety Youth Centre of Moscow. 15 pupils between 11 and 17 as well as Centre activists took part in the run. 9 cars of the participants ran 7200 km. Their way was prepared to visit most countries that took part in contesting fascism. 18 cities of such countries as Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Czech Republic were visited during the car run.
