13.01.2012 | JSC Mikron has begun supplies of ski passes for the biggest facilities of the Olympic games 2014

JSC Mikron, the leading microelectronics manufacturer and exporter of Russia and CIS has begun supplies of contactless ski passes with chip for the biggest facilities of the forthcoming Olympic games 2014 – mountain skiing resort “Roza Khutor”. 

In line with contract the agreed volume of first supply is 50 thousand ski passes, 15 thousand of them have already been supplied. In 2012 skiing resort “Roza Khutor” plans to rise up the volume and diversify the stock-list of supplies.

16.12.2011 | Plastic Logic company representatives visited Zelenograd

Zelenograd prefect A. Smirnov met representatives of German company Plastic Logic, a SEZ Zelenograd resident which specializes in “soft” displays manufacturing. Plastic Logic company representatives presented the design of the facility building as well as samples of future products, such as “soft” displays, E-textbooks, business pads, and discussed the problems the residents of SEZ are facing. In his turn, Zelenograd Prefect promised to do his best for Plastic logic facility construction project at SEZ Zelenograd territory to be embodied.

12.12.2011 | The 12th winter BIM-marathon in Zelenograd took place

12th Zelenograd winter marathon which was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Soviet army counteroffensive near Moscow took place. 217 runners from 32 constituent entities of the Russian Federation as well as Ukraine, Estonia, Bulgaria, USA and France took part in it. Women’s winner was Michelle Mitchell (Chicago, USA), the silver medal had E. Simukina (Bryansk), and the bronze went to I. Koval (Kashira). Men’s triumphator was V. Loginov (Ivanovo), the second to finish was I. Zernov (Tver region), and the third one was V. Nasrenov (Bryansk).

JSC Mikron, the leading microelectronics manufacturer and exporter in Russia and CIS participated in the section “silicon microelectronics is the basis for innovations” at the International Nanotechnology forum Rusnanotech 2011. In the frameworks of the section the representatives of Russian and foreign microelectronic companies as well as representatives from the states discussed the development of semiconductors in Russia, marked the reasons that restrain its growth and suggested measures of elimination.

“RITM Zelenograd” Fair was held in Zelenograd within the framework of the Scientific Festival. It is the fair of sci-tech and innovation ideas and projects of youths where Zelenograd students o secondary schools and other educational institutions as well as young specialists and teams present their inventions. The projects of young researchers were sort of merchandize articles to be estimated by the “merchants”, those being experts, representatives from Zelenograd higher education institutions, research institutes, electronic companies.

The 3rd young scientists and specialists conference coincided with the 6th Sicence Festival in Moscow was held in Zelenograd prefecture. The conference was opened with the welcoming remarks of Zelenograd prefect A.Smirnov and was chaired by deputy prefect A.Novozhilov.

Zelenograd is rightly seen as the most advanced Moscow territory in every sport. This year is the third one for Zelenograd to take part in All-Russia Martial Arts Games and the most successful one for our sportsmen. As deputy prefect A.Nemeryuk reported, the members of Zelenograd karate team won two golden, one silver and three bronze awards.

26.09.2011 | Zelenograd volleyball team to be the champion of Russia!

National volleyball competition among veterans teams of all age categories was held from September, 20th till September, 25th in Lazarevskoe. Zelenograd women’s team became the champion of Russia in ‘45+’ age categories, with sweeping in all the competitions including ones with the most strong ones of Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Zelenograd team acknowledged its title of Russia Cup winner which was won this February.

23.09.2011 | From Zelenograd to Abkhazia

On the 22nd of September EMERCOM relief plane took to the capital of Abkhazia the humanitarian aids for Abkhazian schools from Moscow. All the territories of the city took part in its gathering, including Zelenograd. According to Zelenograd prefect A.Smirnov’s instruction Ochamchira district was given new laptops, magnetic marker boards, globes and sports equipment, such as sneakers, volleyballs, footballs, basketballs and rackets. The overall amount of the humanitarian aids was 249,659 roubles, with total weight of equipment reaching nearly half a ton.

Bio-data of Dr. Peter Knight

Peter Knight (M.A., Ph.D. Stanford University) is a coordinator of the e-Brasil Project (www.e-brasil.org.br), President of Telematica e Desenvolvimento Ltda.(www.tedbr.com), and partner of Telematics for Education and Development (www.knight-moore.com).

Before joining the private sector, he led the World Bank’s Electronic Media Center (1994-1997), and before that was Chief of the National Economic Management Division in the Bank's Economic Development Institute (EDI) and Lead Economist for Brazil.

Dr. Knight’s World Bank career spanned over 20 years, with more than eight devoted exclusively to work on Brazil.

Earlier he held positions at Cornell University, the Ford Foundation, the Brookings Institution and the Centro de Treinamento para o Desenvolvimento Economico (CENDEC).

He received his Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Economics from Stanford University and holds degrees in Government from Dartmouth College (US) and Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University (UK).

Dr. Knight has published over a hundred books, monographs, chapters, and articles in various languages: his latest books are (co-edited and co-authored) e-gov.br – a próxima revolução brasileira (São Paulo: Financial Times Prentice Hall/Pearson Education do Brasil, 2004); Rumo ao e-Brasil (Rio de Janeiro: Garamond, 2006), (co-co-edited and co-authored) e-Brasil – Um programa para acelerar o desenvolvimento socioeconomico aproveitando a convergencia digital (São Caetano do Sul, SP: Yendis, 2006) and e-Desenvolvimento no Brasil e no mundo: subsidios e Programa e-Brasil (São Caetano do Sul, SP: Yendis, 2007). He is a member of the Board of the Journal of E-Government and speaks French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish in addition to his native English.
